How To Design The Perfect Personal Gift

So far the only products we have on the website for purchase are laser etched glasses and some bracelets, but Junie Balloonie is so much more! We will be offering more of our items on the website very soon.  Many of our product ideas actually come from our customers. I have had people contact me with a need for something different and personalized to be given as a gift, but they have no idea what the actual item they want to give is. I love to create unique gifts, but sometimes it can be hard to come up with an amazing idea. Here are 3 things to focus on to get your creative brain flowing:

  • The most important thing to keep in mind is WHO the gift is for. It sounds a little obvious, but it’s something that is easily overlooked. My husband tends to walk into a store with the task of buying a birthday present for someone. He will walk in, pick up the first universal gifty-type thing he sees, and buy it. He’s out of the store in less than 2 minutes. That’s not such a terrible plan, but a memorable gift is much more appreciated. To order a one-of-a-kind item, think a little about the person you’re giving it to. What do they love? Are they a sports fan? Coffee drinker? Wine connoisseur? Pet lover? Proud mom, dad, or grandparent? What do you think of when you think of them? Once you key in on that you’re off to a great start.
  • What is the OCCASION the gift is for? Wedding? Birthday? Just a little something to support a friend? We design for celebratory occasions as well as supportive or memorial items. For a wedding, a custom set of wine glasses designed from the bride & groom’s invitation makes a superb, one-of-a-kind gift that they will treasure for years. A birthday gal or guy might like a funny beer pint or shot glass to help celebrate their day. Maybe the gift receiver would rather have a piece of jewelry. Is there a special word that they identify with that would look nice engraved in a bracelet, necklace, or keychain? Or maybe you have a photograph that would be so amazing to give etched or engraved on something rather than printed out and stuck in a frame. One of the most special items I ever made was for my son. I engraved my dad’s signature in a leather cuff bracelet and he loved it. It was a personal item that meant so much to both of us. Memorial signature art has become my personal favorite to create. I have always had an interest in handwriting. I take great care when making something extra special out of a loved one’s written words. That is truly a gift that will leave them speechless.
  • The last focus is the budget. What PRICE RANGE do you need to stay in? Wonderful gifts do not have to cost a fortune. There are many materials that your gift can be made out of such as wood, acrylic, glass, and metal, which range in price. An item such as a Mother’s Day necklace with her children’s names engraved would be treasured by any mom whether it’s a wooden pendant on a leather cord (small price tag), or completely made of sterling silver (larger price tag).

I hope after reading this I’ve helped you all become awesome gift givers. Whomever it’s for, whatever the occasion, no matter the price range, we’d be honored to create your extra special gift.

      Hi Terri,

Currently I only have some wooden Christmas ornaments made, but I can still take custom orders. Do you have something in mind?

      Thanks,
      Amie
